Once-a-week schedule and postponements killing A Good Day to Be a Dog ratings
It is easy to see why so many Korean dramas suffer a big drop in ratings as the series continues to air. Especially those whose TV stations have decided to air them just once a week.
And especially those who are unfortunate enough to be airing during baseball season, when they are more likely than not to have episodes postponed due to a televised baseball game.
Take the ongoing MBC drama A Good Day to Be a Dog.
That K-drama started off with a ratings high of 2.8 percent for its second episode, after the first two episodes aired back-to-back on the same night.
By November 1st, when its fourth episode aired, A Good Day to Be a Dog‘s ratings had already dropped to 1.7 percent after that episode was postponed a week due to — you guessed it — a baseball game.
Now, a week later, and A Good Day to Be a Dog, Episode 5 has also been postponed for a week due to yet another baseball game.
This time due to a KBO (Korea Baseball Organization) Korean Series Game 2 on Wednesday night between the LG Twins and the KT Wiz. (The Twins won 5:4).
When will A Good Day to Be a Dog, Episode 5 air?
At the moment, A Good Day to Be a Dog, Episode 5 is scheduled to air on Wednesday, November 15th, but like anything else with South Korean drama schedules that could change.
It’s a pity, especially for the cast, staff and crew, as the MBC TV drama started off looking promising.
But, if these postponements continue, by the time the K-drama has finished airing (sometime in 2026?), half of its audience will have forgotten it even exists.
A Good Day to Be a Dog stars Park Gyu Young, Cha Eun Woo, and Lee Hyun Woo, and is supposed to air every Wednesday at 21:00 (KST) in South Korea.
Outside Korea, K-drama fans can watch the romantic comedy on Viki.
Although, if you want to be sure every episode will actually get released, you might want to wait until it has ended.
