Doctor Cha Ep. 4 audience is over 225 PERCENT higher than first episode

Michelle Topham April 24, 2023

The Doctor Cha, Episode 4 audience predicts drama will be one of year’s most popular

After the Doctor Cha, Episode 4 audience numbers were released earlier today by Nielsen Korea, there should be no doubt on anyone’s mind how popular this funny family drama has become in just the first two weeks of its run.

Not when you look at the audience numbers for Episode 4, and quickly realize the number of people now watching the medical drama has grown by over 225 percent since its first episode aired on April 15th.

A huge increase in viewers, but not too surprising when you see how well the drama is being rated by international viewers on various websites as well.

Viewers who apparently agree with the South Korean audiences, and who also seem to be growing with every new episode’s release.

As for those numbers, they show after the first episode of the drama premiered to just a 4.93 percent audience share in Korean nationwide, just three episodes later and last night’s Doctor Cha, Episode 4 skyrocketed to an 11.20 percent share.

Viewers in Seoul seem to be equally interested in the medical drama, as they have grown from 5.45 percent for the first episode to 11.71 percent for the fourth.

An even higher percentage than that earned for the drama nationwide.

In other words, do not be surprised if Doctor Cha ends up being one of the most popular K-dramas of 2023.

Doctor Cha streams for international viewers on Netflix

Doctor Cha stars Uhm Jung Hwa as the titular doctor, alongside Kim Byung Chul, Myung Se Bin, and Min Woo Hyuk.

It airs on JTBC in Korea every Saturday and Sunday at 22:30 (KST), with the next episode due to release on April 29th.

International fans of the series are loving the comedy, finding it rib-achingly funny, as well as praising the performances of leads Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Byung Chul (Doctor Cha’s husband), while simultaneously hating the husband he plays.

Some are also commenting how nice it is to have yet another South Korean drama starring mature actors instead of teens.

In Korea, Doctor Cha airs every Saturday and Sunday at 22:30 (KST) on JTBC. The next episode will premiere on the network on April 29th.

For international viewers, the drama is also streaming on Netflix outside South Korea.
