What the hell South Korea K-drama fans, and I have to say this news really pisses me off, considering the Korean drama Tell Me That You Love Me is just about my favorite K-drama of 2023.
Why am I so annoyed, you might ask?
That is because the latest rating for the Jung Woo Sung led drama is out via Nielsen Korea — this time the Tell Me That You Love Me, Episode 12 ratings — and that rating has actually dropped to the lowest rating the Genie TV/ENA drama has earned since it premiered on November 27th, 2023.
Now considering the drama is one of the best acted, most well-written, most touching, most satisfying and most beautifully filmed drama out of South Korea all year, can I ask what is wrong with Korean audiences that they do not seem to be as invested in this drama as most of the international audience currently watching it?
Tell Me That You Love Me, Episode 12 rating
Now to get back to the Tell Me That You Love Me, Episode 12 ratings, according to Nielsen Korea the romance drama managed to grab just 1.49 percent of the audience share in South Korea on Tuesday night.
That is down from Episode 11’s nationwide rating of 1.59 percent, which was already a drop from Episode 10’s all-time high of 2.12 percent on December 26th.
Then again, with the New Year’s holiday just coming to an end, and with millions of people traveling back home on January 2nd after spending the holiday with the family, it is entirely possible Tell Me That You Love Me Episode 13’s rating will bounce back quickly next week.
Fingers crossed. Because goddarnit, this Korean drama is so good!
That episode will air on January 8th, 2023 on Genie TV and ENA in Korea, with Disney Plus also streaming the drama to a select number of international regions.
Meanwhile, international audiences are still raving about Tell Me That You Love Me via sites like IMDB and My Drama List, with many international viewers stating it is the best drama of 2023.
Do they have better taste than Korean audiences? đ
