Sora Amamiya cast in Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms as basketball star Asahi Shonan

Voice actress Sora Amamiya has been cast in the upcoming rom-com anime Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms.
The announcement of her casting comes right on the tail of the release of a slew of promotional information about the SynergySP-produced anime, including two trailers, a character visual of protagonist Mona, and a cute key visual.
Sora Amamiya, of course, is known for voicing such iconic characters as Aqua in KonoSuba, Elizabeth in The Seven Deadly Sins, Chizuru in Rent-a-Girlfriend, and Touka in Tokyo Ghoul.
In Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms, Sora Amamiya will be voicing high-school basketball star Asahi Shonan.
She is a girl who is both cool and sure of herself.
Along with the announcement, an Asahi Shonan character video was released that uses a new character visual as the background (see above) while Sora Amamiya plays Asahi alongside Yuu Serizawa who is voicing protagonist Mona Kawai.
Both girls are in a classroom after being summoned there by a letter, but neither have any idea who sent it.
As they wait for the person who summons them, the conversation becomes stilted and strange.

Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms anime details
The anime is being directed by Yoshiaki Okumura (The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made), with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Shangri-La Frontier) in charge of series composition, and Mayumi Watanabe (Kawaisugi Crisis) designing the characters.
It is scheduled to premiere some time in 2025.
The anime is based on the manga series of the same name, which currently has 15 volumes out in Japanese.
Its English translation is being published by Kodansha USA, who has 12 volumes out already and Volume 13 due on August 13th.
They describe its plot in this fashion:
Mona is the cutest girl in school, and she knows it. In fact, she has everyone wrapped around her pretty little finger—everyone, that is, except Medaka Kuroiwa, a recent transfer student.
Determined to win him over and solidify her reign as unchallenged queen bee, Mona rolls out the red carpet for her newest would-be subject, only for the stone-cold stoic to glare her down at every turn!
Just how far will she go to prove her charms are truly irresistible and win over the last unclaimed heart in school? And why is it that her chest keeps getting tighter the harder he proves to conquer?
