Series context
Sentenced to Be a Hero premiered in Japan on January 3rd, 2026, kicking off with a one-hour special episode that was lauded by both critics and viewers alike.
The anime adapts the dark fantasy light novels written by Rocket Shokai and illustrated by Mephisto, which follow condemned criminals forced to fight endlessly as “heroes” in a brutal punishment system.
The newly announced performers join an existing main cast led by Youhei Azakami as Xylo Forbartz and Mayu Iizuka as Teoritta.
