It Takes More than a Pretty Face to Fall in Love manga gets live-action film adaptation

One of my recent most pleasant romance manga surprises is the hit series It Takes More Than a Pretty Face to Fall In Love.
A manga series I have been enjoying not only for its fun romance, but also because of its two main characters who actually turn out to be quite likeable, and also for its pretty art style.
While the manga has not yet received an anime, it has just been greenlit for a live action film adaptation, with mangaka Karin Anzai announcing the news on her X account earlier this week.
Along with the live-action film announcement, she also released a new celebratory visual of protagonist Ugo Kanato (see below) with the comment that, as the movie is still in pre-release, she can’t say much about it but she will have a more detailed comment in the latest issue of the Hana to Yume magazine.
That issue is now out in Japan, with the magazine also mentioning the live adaptation on its cover.
The It Takes More Than a Pretty Face to Fall In Love manga, known as Kao Dake ja Suki ni Narimasen in Japan), currently has 11 volumes out in Japan, with its latest volume arriving on July 19th.
Comikey digitally publishes the manga in English, with four chapters available to read for free, and 42.1 chapters available to read so far.
They explain the plot like this:
Chiken Sana loves good-looking guys more than anything. After enrolling at Minowa General Highschool in hopes of meeting her ideal man, she finds Ugo Kanato, a man blessed with looks from the gods themselves.
However, she quickly finds herself in a predicament! Due to skipping too many classes, Kanato is set to be expelled!
Unless she can help leverage his good looks and get the school’s social media account to 100,000 followers, Sana ‘s dreamboat will disappear from her life forever. The story follows the pair and their changing relationship as they try to prevent Kanato’s expulsion.
There is no word yet on when the It Takes More Than a Pretty Face to Fall in Love live-action film adaptation will release, or which actors will star in it, but we will keep you informed as soon as that information is announced.
