Dynamite Kiss earns highest nationwide rating of its run
While international viewers are predominantly slamming the final episode of K-drama Dynamite Kiss (and quite a few episodes before that, if the truth were known), South Korean viewers apparently liked the show in high enough numbers that Dynamite Kiss, Episode 14 earned its highest national rating on Thursday night.
That rating was 6.9 percent of the nationwide viewership versus the 5.2 percent the Korean drama earned for its penultimate episode the night before.
The SBS drama also earned a very good rating in Seoul, although the 7.0 percent it garnered was not quite able to reach the 7.1 percent it grabbed for Episode 8 on December 4th.

International viewers slam Dynamite Kiss, Episode 14
To be completely upfront, I dropped Dynamite Kiss in the middle of Episode 2, so I cannot comment on whether the opinions of many international viewers about Episode 14 are correct.
Although, to be honest, the minute viewers commented on a ‘memory loss’ plot in the final couple of episodes, I knew I had done the right thing in dropping it.
But, if you look at sites like My Drama List and IMDB, while some comments are positive, a substantial number of viewers are slamming the K-drama’s series finale after stupid writing mid-way through the series becomes even dumber by its end.
On IMDB, where the rating for Dynamite Kiss fell from 8.2 out of 10 for its first episode to 6.7 for Episodes 13 and 14, and where a substantial number of the K-drama’s positive reviews have been written after the first two episodes, those comments after Episode 14 range from:
Believe the low ratings, ignore the rest
7.9 average rating? GTFO. More than half of these reviews are botted and only cover the first two episodes, which were undoubtedly the best of the series. The show starts off strong but gradually declines week by week. The initial setup is good with Jeju Island and the workplace situation that the FL quickly finds herself in is great. The other mothers she works with round out the group nicely. The actual rom-com is enjoyable up to a point, but then the real plot begins…
the reviewer then goes on to trash the introduction of various “villains” and ends with…
By the end of the show, the writers had run out of original ideas and decided to throw every K-drama trope into the story just for good measure. So disappointing.

This has been a total let down from episode 2 until the very end. The premise was really promising only to be ruined by a utterly bad script. While the male lead has done his uttermost best to deliver, considering the non story, the FL character is one of the worst in the entire K drama history.
It is painfully flawed and beyond questionable during most of the show duration, however this seems to be of little to no importance to the male lead who must be a glutton for pain… Never again! If you read this just do yourself a favour and do not go through the unbearable ordeal of watching this utter nonsense.
Meanwhile, over on My Drama List, the latest comments after Episode 14 aired are overwhelmingly negative and range from:
Watched last 6 eps in 2 hours I guess. Couldn’t stand it anymore.
to
I absolutely hate the last episode. Ending was messy, the subplots were unnecessary and made me wanna bang my head on the wall. Till 13 episodes the show was somewhat tolerable but this end episode f*cking pissed me off. I hate this show.
Dynamite Kiss‘s 8.4 out of 10 rating on the site has also dropped to an 8.1, and is likely to fall even further before viewers are done.
So yep, what started out as a K-drama with high ratings and overwhelmingly positive comments for its first two episodes garnered quite the opposite by its end.
Dynamite Kiss stars Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin, with every episode now streaming on Netflix. I would say, if the comments are correct, watch it at your risk.
