The official website for the two-part film adaptation of the Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction manga series has just dropped a vibrant trailer for its second installment!
The new Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, Part 2 trailer (watch below) reminds us of what happened in Part 1, then gives us glimpses of where the story heads in the anime’s second part.
You can also get ready for a double dose of music fun as, along with another glimpse at the gorgeously animated world, the Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, Part 2 trailer also gives us a sneak peek into both of the anime film’s theme songs.
They are the opening anime theme song — ‘Zett-Zett-Zett-Zett-Zettai Seiiki’ (aka ‘Abababab Absolute Sanctuary’) by Ano featuring Lilas Ikuta — with the ending theme song by the same artists, but in opposite roles — ‘Seishun Ōka‘ (aka ‘Adolescence Hymn’) performed by Lilas Ikuta and featuring Ano.
The cast and staff of Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, Part 2
Voice actress and singer Ano is back voicing Ouran Nakagawa, with Lilas Ikuta (Belle) as Kadode Koyama, and Miyu Irino (Mirai in Platinum End) playing Keita Ooba.
Like Part 1, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, Part 2 is being directed by Tomoyuki Kurokawa (Bokura no Yoake), with Reiko Yoshida (Blue Period) writing the screenplay, and both character designs and chief animation direction by Nobutaka Ito (Lu Over the Wall).
The animation studio Production +h (The Orbital Children) is in charge of animation production, along with that gorgeous art style.
For those not familiar with the manga’s world, it’s a delightful mix of the mundane and the extraordinary, centering around high schooler Kadode Koyama and her friend Ouran Nakagawa navigating daily life in Tokyo.
All while the looming presence of a giant mothership overhead adds a layer of intrigue and dread.
The Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction manga series in English
If you like how this looks, the phenomenal manga series written and illustrated by Inio Asano that the anime film is based on is being published in English by Viz Media.
All 12 volumes of the now-completed manga series are available via their website.
As for the Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, Part 2 anime film, while the first film hit screens on March 22nd in Japan, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, Part 2 is set to complete the story on May 24th after a delay from its original April 19th scheduled release date.
Unfortunately, we are still waiting for a western release date. We will keep you informed as that’s released.
