Nice to Not Meet You #1 in its time slot but its ratings are still up and down
For a Korean drama whose ratings seem kinda stuck, you only have to look at the ongoing tvN drama Nice to Not Meet You, Episode 7, which aired last night to a rise in its ratings after falling to an all-time low with its episode before that (due to the airing of a football game though).
But, even with that rise, the Korean drama still experienced ratings last night that have not come close to the all-time high ratings Nice to Not Meet You earned for its first episode.
And, if the K-drama’s viewership continues to rise and fall like they have been doing, are not likely to either.
Nice to Not Meet You, Episode 10 earned 4.22 percent of the nationwide audience share on Monday night.
Yes, a nice rise from the 3.13 percent it earned for Episode 9, but still nowhere near the 5.45 percent the romantic comedy garnered for its premiere.
The same also occurred with audiences in Seoul, with Episode 10 of Nice to Not Meet You garnering 4.44 percent in the ratings. That’s higher than Episode 9’s viewership of 3.39 percent, but still lower than the 5.19 percent of Episode 1.
With nine episodes still left to air then, can Nice to Not Meet You break out of its up and down cycle, or is it destined to remain attracting an audience that is smaller than the one that tuned in when it began?
In good news, though, a viewership in the region of 4.0 percent is still a solid audience share for a drama airing on a Monday evening, and was enough to put the tvN series in the #1 spot in its time slot both nationwide and in Seoul.

International ratings fall
Interestingly, the international ratings for Nice to Not Meet You are also falling, with My Drama List seeing a decrease from the initial 8.1 out of 10 the Korean drama earned from viewers, to today’s 7.5 out of 10.
IMDB viewers have also dropped it from a 7.6 to a 7.3 out of 10.
However, when you look at the current Amazon Prime Video Top 10, Nice to Not Meet You is in the Top 10 in 13 countries, with an average position of #6 so, no, lower international ratings don’t seem to be dissuading people from watching it at all.
Nice to Not Meet You stars Lee Jung Jae, Im Ji Yeon, Kim Ji Hoon and Seo Ji Hye.
The K-drama’s eighth episode airs/streams tonight.
Update: Episode 9 earns higher ratings, but the rumor is Episodes 11 and 12 of Nice to Not Meet You may be postponed for a week
