Villains Everywhere Ep 1 kicks off with solid ratings – only has limited licensing internationally

The latest KBS2 drama Villains Everywhere, Episode 1 premiered on Wednesday night to much better ratings than the ones its predecessor Kick Kick Kick Kick went out on last week.
That’s because, while Kick Kick Kick Kick earned a pitiful 0.30 percent for its series finale, Villains Everywhere kicked off its 12-episode run with a very solid 2.7 percent nationwide.
Unfortunately, the new K-drama seems to have been given a limited international release as only a handful of people are currently watching it on My Drama List, which suggests there is little legal availabilit.
It is also not currently available in Europe (where I currently am) on Viki.
That likely means KBS2 wasn’t able to garner their usual international licensing agreements, as it has been a long time before I wasn’t able to access one of their major dramas in Europe legally.
What is Villains Everywhere about?
The Korean family comedy drama is directed by Kim Byung Wook, who hasn’t directed anything of note since 2014’s Potato Star 2013QR3 (nice to see him back) and stars Oh Na Ra, Soo Yoo Jin, Seo Hyun Chul, Song Jin Woo, and Park Young Gyu.
It tells the story of two middle-aged sisters and their families, who are all in a situation in which they are constantly having to deal with villains.
The Korean sitcom looks into their pasts, and what could have caused this to happen.
Villains Everywhere airs in South Korea on KBS2 every Wednesday and Thursday at 21:50 (KST), with very limited international release on Viki.
