Black Out Ep 5 grabs its highest ever rating – amazing since it’s up against Good Partner

The ongoing MBC drama Black Out, Episode 5 grabbed its highest ever rating in South Korea last night.
A rating that was 5.1 percent nationwide, which is a substantial increase from its previous episode’s 4.4 percent the week before.
The Korean drama also performed similarly with Seoul audiences, climbing from last week’s viewership of 3.8 percent in the region to Friday night’s 4.7 percent.
What makes the rise of Black Out‘s ratings such a superb achievement, however, is that it airs in the same time slot as the SBS drama Good Partner, which last night was the #1 most-watched show of any TV show in South Korea for the entire week grabbing 15.5 percent rating for its 10th episode.
The mystery thriller is also being given solid ratings from viewers on My Drama List, as it currently earns an 8.0 out of 10 — a very good rating from users of the Asian drama-focused website.
Black Out stars Byun Yo Han, Ko Jun, Go Bo Gyeol, and Kim Bo Ra.
The Korean drama airs every Friday and Saturday evening at 21:50 (KST) in South Korea, with its next episode hitting airwaves later on tonight.
Outside South Korea, Black Out is now streaming via Hulu.
