What are the relationships between The Whirlwind characters? Here’s a handy chart for the Netflix K-drama

Like any complicated political drama, the South Korean Netflix series The Whirlwind can be quite confusing when it comes to the relationships between each of the characters in it.
Especially as the political intrigue mounts.
That is why Netflix has put together a relationship chart for the characters of The Whirlwind that shows their family relationships, their political relationships and whether they are hostile, friendly or ambiguous towards each other.
Or, in a couple of cases, have relationships or feelings we are not sure about at all.
With just a quick look at that chart, you can figure out that Lee Jang Seok (played by Jeon Bae Soo) and Seo Gi Tae (Park Kyung Chan) are friends, that Seo Jeong Yeon (Im Se Mi) and Seo Gi Tae are brother and sister, that Han Min Ho (Lee Hae Young) is married to Jeong Su Jin (Kim Hee Ae) or that Park Dong Ho (Sol Kyung Gu) and Jeong Su Jin hate each other.
By being able to refer to the relationships between The Whirlwind characters, that also makes watching the sometimes confusing The Whirlwind just that bit easier.
The Korean drama, by the way, is superbly written and acted.
The Whirlwind stars Sol Kyung Gu and Kim Hee Ae as the K-drama’s main leads.
It is written by acclaimed Korean screenwriter Park Kyung Su, who is known for such superb dramas as The Chaser and Punch, and tells the story of what happens in the clash between the prime minister and the deputy prime minister when the prime minister decides to assassinate the corrupt president.
Kim Yong Wan (If You Wish Upon Me and The Cursed) directed the 12 episode mini series.
All 12 episodes are now streaming on Netflix.
The Whirlwind is currently sitting pretty in the Top 10 on Netflix in Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
