The second season of the South Korean fantasy action thriller The Uncanny Counter premiered on tvN in South Korea last night to higher ratings than those the first episode of Season 1 earned back in late 2020.
The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch, Episode 1 garnered 3.94 percent of the audience share nationwide, which is more than 1.2 percent higher than the drama earned for the first episode of its first season.
In Seoul, the Jo Byeong Kyu-led drama also garnered 3.94 percent of the audience, which was an increase of 0.78 percent over the ratings of the first episode of Season 1.
Considering the first season of The Uncanny Counter saw a huge rating increase from its first episode to its last, it is very likely season 2 will experience the same.
International viewers of The Uncanny Counter 2
After The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch, Episode 1 streamed on Netflix, international viewers of the K-drama are already rating it a very high 8.8 out of 10 via My Drama List.

Oh my god. Kang Kiyoung (who plays Pil Kwang) BLEW ME AWAY. I have been a fan since God knows how many years ago. I have always enjoyed his works and found him extremely charismatic and natural in his acting. but this is the first time I have seen him in this kind of settings.
He definitely lost weight for this role, which makes him even more chilling. But it is his facial expression!!!! Honestly the role can be a bit cartoony. But somehow he grounded the villain role with so much depth and character.
In other words, if the rest of The Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch carries on like Episode 1, the drama is likely to be a big success with international audiences as well.
