The new South Korean slice of life comedy drama The Good Bad Mother, Episode 1 premiered last night and as might be expected for a drama starring Lee Do Hyun, the first episode got the JTBC drama off to a good start.
That good start, according to the official numbers just released from Nielsen Korea, was The Good Bad Mother, Episode 1 ratings showing a 3.58 percent audience share nationwide, with an even higher 4.1 percent for viewers in Seoul.
Stealer: The Treasure Keeper is the drama’s direct rival, airing on tvN in the same time slot.
That drama has been struggling since its first episode to hold onto a loyal audience, and again its viewership fell slightly last night compared to its previous episode.
That may mean The Good Bad Mother was able to poach some of them.
Whether the Lee Do Hyun-led drama can hold onto them, however, we will know more after tonight’s episode.
What is The Good Bad Mother plot?
The Good Bad Mother stars Lee Do Hyun, Ra Mi Ran and Ahn Eun Ji.
The K-drama tells the story of well-known prosecutor Kang Ho (Lee Do Hyun) and his mother Young Soon (Ra Mi Ran).
A son and mother who have had a problematic relationship for a long time.
That is until Young Soon is suddenly forced to return to taking care of her son after an accident not only causes him to lose his memory, but also to revert to the personality of a seven-year-old child.
The second episode of The Good Bad Mother will premiere tonight on JTBC.
The drama will then air every Wednesday and Thursday at 22:30 (KST) until its finale on June 8th.
Outside South Korea, The Good Bad Mother is now streaming via Netflix in select regions.
