The Bequeathed on Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart just 3 days after release

The Korean drama The Bequeathed premiered on Netflix on January 19th, and has already made it onto the Netflix Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart just three days after its released.
According to the Netflix-owned website Tudum, The Bequeathed is currently sitting at #4 on the platform’s Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart for the period of January 15th to January 21st, 2024.
It earned its ranking after being watched 2.5 million times in just three days, for a total of 11.8 million hours viewed.
Along with its ranking on the Top 10 chart worldwide, The Bequeathed was in the Top 10 in 10 countries, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and in its home country of South Korea.
The suspense thriller also beat out fellow Korean drama Welcome to Samdalri, which is currently in the #8 spot after its final episode premiered over the weekend.
What is The Bequeathed about?
The Bequeathed stars Kim Hyun Joo, Park Hee Soon, Park Byung Eun, and Ryu Kyung Soo.
The Korean drama tells the story of Yun Seo Ha (played by Kim Hyun Joo), an adjunct professor who finds out her husband is having an affair.
As if that wasn’t enough to deal with, her university job requires her to do most of the work for a professor who then takes all the credit, and she finds out her late father’s elderly brother has been murdered and has left her a family burial plot in his will.
As soon as she finds out about the burial plot, however, other terrible things also begin to happen.
Including being introduced to a supposed “half-brother” who seems to be mentally unstable.
If you enjoy a suspenseful thriller featuring an exceptionally good cast, and with a well-written plot full of twists and scares, you may just like this one a lot.
