Lee Dong Wook is beautiful as his Lee Yeon still photos prove
So, you might say there are some South Korean actors I like more than others.
Sometimes it is because they are phenomenal at their craft, other times it may be because they are interesting people, and even other times it may just be because they’re hot.
Yep, I am just as shallow as everyone else now and again. Sue me.
One of the South Korean actors that falls in the third category is Lee Dong Wook.
Although honestly Dong Wook also falls in the first category with his performance in Bad and Crazy and in the second when he answers funny fan questions.
Lee Dong Wook, of course, is the star of the smash-hit 2020 fantasy drama Tale of the Nine-Tailed (and a slew of other superb dramas), as well as the star of its sequel — Tale of Nine-Tailed 1938 — which premieres later tonight on tvN in South Korea.
Because of that sequel, Korean broadcaster tvN released several Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, Episode 1 photo stills this week to promote the upcoming drama.
As you might guess, most of those photos feature Lee Dong Wook as nine-tailed fox Lee Yeon.
Because, yep, along with Kim Bung as Yeon’s brother Lee Rang, Dong Wook is the reason most of us will be tuning into this thing, and the smart folks at tvN know that.
Those Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, Episode 1 photo stills then show Lee Yeon in a number of scene stills — Lee Yeon looking slightly beaten up, Lee Yeon pointing a gun at someone, Lee Yeon holding a sword to Dongbangsak’s (Kim Young Hoon’s) throat, and Lee Yeon hiding behind a partition looking pensive and sad.

But, one thing that stands out about all of these Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, Episode 1 is not only how beautiful Lee Dong Wook is, because that’s a given, but also just how little he seems to age.
Sure, the dude won’t be 42 until November, so it isn’t like he’s ancient (and, let’s face it, he is younger than me).
But just look at those Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 photo stills then compare them with Lee Dong Wook photos when he was in the original drama three years ago, or even when he starred in Touch Your Heart in 2019 or Goblin in 2016 and, I swear, four and seven years later and he still doesn’t look any different.
All I can say is Lee Dong Wook has superior genes passed down from his parents (well, with his gorgeous looks, he obviously has those), or he has one helluva skin care and exercise routine that I need to copy.
By the way, Dong Wook’s ancestry is mainly Korean, although according to DNA results he received as part of a show he participated in, his mother’s genetic make up is similar to Russia’s Koryak and Khaka peoples.
Maybe that explains that hella amazing bone structure eh?
