Rose and Gun poster, trailer and character visuals drop as C-drama gets release date – finally

The new Chinese military-themed drama Rose and Gun has dropped a new poster, a trailer, as well as a slew of character visuals for its leads and main supporting cast.
All arrived via Tencent with (finally) a premiere date of July 2nd, 2025 — with the C-drama streaming exclusively on Tencent Video.
It’s a drama I have had on my radar for a while, not because I’m particularly interested in military stories (I’m not), but lead actress Xuan Lu did such a wonderful job as Feng Qi Wu in the martial arts/romance drama Who Rules the World, I’ve followed her work ever since.
In Rose and Gun, Xuan Lu plays reporter Tang Xin to Jin Han’s military officer Wu Si and, as the plot is just as much about a romance than military tactics (think An Officer and a Gentleman, maybe?), it looks like it may be right up my alley.

The Rose and Gun poster was released on Wednesday, followed by the character visuals giving us another heads up about the Tencent drama’s premiere.
Tencent also officially named the main and supporting cast, the co-directors and head writer:

Another message was released with the C-drama’s character visuals, which feature a weird placement of other people’s hands along with the character himself/herself (intriguing):
