Queen of Tears Ep 8 ratings surge to highest ever – now 15th highest rated cable TV show of all-time

Queen of Tears gets huge boost in ratings both nationwide and in Seoul
The ongoing Korean rom-com Queen of Tears, Episode 8 surged in the ratings last night, grabbing a much higher audience share than its previous episode on Saturday night, and catapulting the tvN drama into the 15th spot on the Highest-Rated Drama Series on Cable TV chart (since 2016).
The K-drama earned 16.14 percent of the nationwide viewership, which is a big jump from its previous episode’s already-high rating of 12.83 percent on Saturday night, as well as the drama’s highest ever rating.
Meanwhile, in Seoul, Nielsen Korea is reporting Queen of Tears, Episode 8 earned an even bigger share of that region’s viewers, grabbing 17.88 percent — which is up from Episode 7’s rating of 14.04 percent.
Queen of Tears knocks Agency out of 15th spot on highest rated K-dramas chart
Prior to last night, the Korean drama in the 15th spot on the Highest-Rated Drama Series on Cable TV chart was JTBC’s Agency, with 16.04 percent of the audience.
Now, with Queen of Tears, Episode 8 earning 16.14 percent last night, it has bumped Agency down to 16th place and grabbed the 15th place for itself.
With Queen of Tears only finishing the first half of its run last night, and with eight more episodes still to air, that also means there is even more time for it to surge past that 15th spot if the K-drama’s ratings grow even more.
Fingers crossed, eh?
Queen of Tears stars Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, and airs every Saturday and Sunday evening on tvN in South Korea.
Netflix is streaming the series for most of its international users, who have recently catapulted the Korean drama to the #4 spot on the Netflix Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart as well.
