After dropping to an almost all-time low with its seventh episode on Friday night, Phantom Lawyer, Episode 8 bounced back in the ratings last night as it grabbed the K-drama’s second-highest rating of its run so far.
So popular was it, data via Nielsen Korea shows the latest episode of Phantom Lawyer earned almost two full percentage points higher than its previous episode on Saturday night from nationwide audiences, and over two percent more from viewers in Seoul.
The SBS drama was also the #1 most-watched miniseries of the week, and #1 in its time slot, which helped wrap up its first half perfectly.
Those ratings, by the way, were 9.5 percent nationwide (up from the 7.6 percent it earned on Friday night), and 9.4 percent in Seoul (a very nice increase from the 7.3 percent the K-drama garnered for Episode 7).
With eight episodes still to air, and both international and Korean K-drama viewers seeming to love it, it’s safe to say there is a very good chance Phantom Lawyer will also climb back into double digits as future episodes air.
The Korean drama, which is directed by Shin Joong Hoon, and stars Yoo Yeon Seok and Esom and streams on Netflix and Viki, is scheduled to run through May 2nd.
We’ll keep you posted.
