Heads up time traveling fans
Now this one not only has a plot that ticks all of my boxes but, as the upcoming drama My Dear Brother stars both Pan Yue Ming (who I adored in the Candle in the Tomb series) and Hu Xian Xu (wonderful in the recent All Rise), it found its way close to my Must Watch list quite quickly.
And I say “ticks all of my boxes” as My Dear Brother tells the story of time-traveling young firefighter, Li Chuan (played by Hu Xian Xu) who learns about the heroism of volunteer firefighter Li Shun Zhang during the Republic of China, and then suddenly finds himself transported from the modern day back into the past where he also joins the same fire brigade.
Yep. A war time setting. A time traveling firefighter. And, apparently, a mystery as well, as Li Chuan soon learns what ultimately happened to Li Shun Zhang is still unclear.
If you are as fanatical of a time traveling plot fan as I am, I will bet you are now as excited as me. Right?

My Dear Brother wraps filming, drops cast photos
As of today, we are also one step closer to My Dear Brother being released as the C-drama officially wrapped its filming, and dropped wrap party photos of the cast.
A cast that, along with the two leads, also features several veteran actors who always add something interesting to every drama they are in — director Bai Shan in a rare acting appearance, Yan Pei Lun, Sun Yan, Cao Xi Wen and Qu Gao Wei, I am talking about you!

iQIYI also commented about the emotions created during the drama’s filming, which is nice as we all know actors often form quite strong bonds as they film:
Light and shadow freeze, warm blood seal
The sea of fire journey, today’s farewell
At the end of the play, the people did not disperse. Although the fire is out, the feeling will burn forever!
My Dear Brother, which I think is much more appropriately titled Looking for Li Shun Zhang (寻找李顺章) in Chinese, kicked off its filming in Hengdian on October 25th, 2025.

The Chinese historical drama is directed by the aforementioned Bai Shan, who was also responsible for the superb Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty series (Seasons 1 and 2) and the equally excellent Kill My Sins, along with a slew of other series.
Its written by Liang Zhen Hua, whose The Ingenious One is one of my most-loved undiscovered gem (Season 2 coming soon as well).
Hope you enjoy the wrap ceremony photos and that they get you a little more exited for this, what I think, will be a fascinating drama.
And, if you are interested in the full cast (there are many cast photos I have not uploaded here, you will find the rest of them on iQIYI’s Weibo account.
