My Sweet Mobster Ep 3 hits lowest rating – still performing very well internationally

The ongoing Korean rom-com My Sweet Mobster, Episode 3 aired on JTBC last night to its lowest rating yet.
A rating that is even poorer when you realize it is the only K-drama currently airing on Wednesdays in South Korea.
A day, by the way, that is notorious for low drama ratings, which is why most Korean broadcasters no longer air dramas on that day.
The data via Nielsen Korea shows My Sweet Mobster, Episode 3 earning just 1.85 percent of the audience share nationwide, which is down from Episode 2‘s 2.18 percent.
That drop also pushed the K-drama from last week’s 10th place in the most-watched shows on cable to last night’s 13th place.
International ratings for My Sweet Mobster
Interestingly, however, the Korean rom-com seems to be going gangbusters internationally, as it is currently receiving a solid 8.3 out of 10 on My Drama List (anything above an 8.0 on that platform generally means an ‘absolutely worth watching’ for a drama).
The K-drama is performing even better on Viki, where it is streaming for international viewers, with an extremely high average of 9.7 out of 10 from over 1,300 viewers rating it so far.
Three episodes in and, as a My Sweet Mobster viewer myself, I can happily say you should take into account the international ratings over the Korean ratings when deciding if you want to watch it as it has been consistently entertaining since the first minutes of Episode 1.

The drama airs every Wednesday and Thursday evening on JTBC in South Korea, with Viki doing the honors outside the country.
