Moon in the Day E6 sees another all-time low ratings but international viewers rate it high

Well, I was wrong yesterday when I predicted the superb Korean drama Moon in the Day‘s ratings would improve after their Wednesday night drop in South Korea.
That’s because the ratings are now in for Moon in the Day, Episode 6 and the ENA drama experienced yet another ratings drop on Korean TV, giving it an even lower all-time low rating.
According to the numbers from Nielsen Korea, Moon in the Day, Episode 6 garnered 1.35 percent of the audience share nationwide, which is a drop from Episode 5’s previous all-time low rating of 1.51 percent.
In Seoul, the fantasy romance drama saw an even worse rating, grabbing just 1.16 percent of the audience, down from Episode 5’s 1.4o percent.
Even with those low ratings, however, Moon in the Day, Episode 6 did still end up the 5th most-watched show on cable TV nationwide, and the 6th most-watched in Seoul.
So the news isn’t all that dire. Yay!
Moon in the Day and international viewers
International viewers, however, seem to be wildly disagreeing with the low audience share in South Korea.
Over on My Drama List, the drama is still being rated with an 8.3 out of 10, which is a strong rating from users of that site.
And, on Viki, where Moon in the Day is streaming for international viewers, the K-drama is being rated with an astoundingly high 9.6 out of 10.
Moon in the Day stars Kim Young Dae, Pyo Ye Jin, On Joo Wan, Jung Woong In, and Lee Geung Young.
The Korean fantasy romance drama’s next episode will air on ENA next Wednesday, November 22nd at 21:00 (KST), with Viki streaming it for international subscribers.
Fingers crossed those ratings will begin soaring from here, as the Korean drama deserves a much higher audience than it is getting in South Korea right now.
