Live Your Own Life, Ep 1 premieres to MASSIVE RATINGS – Easily in FIRST place for the day

The new Korean family drama Live Your Own Life premiered on KBS2 in South Korea last night to massive ratings.
According to Nielsen Korea, Live Your Own Life, Episode 1 earned 16.50 percent of the audience share nationwide, which easily put the drama in first place for the day as the show in second place — KBS2’s Immortal Songs — grabbed just 6.8 percent of the ratings.
In Seoul, the drama saw a similar result with Live Your Own Life, Episode 1 grabbing 14.3 percent of that region’s audience.
Meanwhile, the somewhat strugging SBS drama The Escape of the Seven was in a distant second place with a just 6.3 percent rating.
What is the K-drama Live Your Own Life about?
Live Your Own Life stars Uee, Ha Jun, and Go Joo Won, and tells the story of Lee Hyo Shim (played by Uee) who is a fitness trainer at a local gym, and who is financially responsible for her entire family — her mother and three brothers — after her father left years before.
Now she is getting older, however, Hyo Shim is getting a little tired of always having to thanklessly slave away for her family, especially as they are all so incredibly irresponsible, and so decides it is now time to live her life for herself.
The new K-drama is a comeback of sorts for the now-35-year-old Uee, who has not appeared in a KBS2 weekend drama since 2018’s My Only One.
The 50-episode Live Your Own Life airs on KBS2 in South Korea every Saturday and Sunday evening at 20:05 (KST).
For international viewers, Viki is streaming the family drama in select regions outside South Korea.
Episode 2 of Live Your Own Life will air later on tonight on KBS2 at 20:05 (KST), with Viki streaming it soon after.
