The South Korean rom com King the Land, and the romance between chaebol heir Goo Won and hotel employee Cheon Sa Rang, seems to have grabbed viewers’ attention.
At least if the latest ratings for the JTBC drama are anything to go by.
According to Nielsen Korea, the ratings for yesterday’s King the Land, Episode 3 were the highest ratings the drama has earned so far, with the latest episode seeing a substantial audience share increase over its first episode.
Those ratings were 9.14 percent of the audience share nationwide, and a higher 10.67 percent in Seoul. Both of which put the drama in first place for the day.
Last night’s King the Land, Episode 3 ratings were also almost double nationwide from the ratings of its first episode, as well as double in Seoul.
How is King the Land, Episode 3 being rated by international viewers?
According to the platform’s latest data, King the Land is now the 8th most-watched TV show on Netflix.
It is also the #1 most-watched TV show in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Hong Kong, the Maldives, Malaysia, Nigeria, Morocco, the Philippines, Oman, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and the UAE.
On My Drama List, international viewers are currently rating the rom com an 8.5 out of 10.
A high rating for that site where users often tend to be on the stingy side when rating, and strict about what they like.

I just love this drama soooo much, I binge-watched all 3 eps back to back just now and the only regret I have is that I have to wait for the next eps (even if for ep 4 it’s only a couple of hours). This is so good even with the tons of romcom clichés. I am the entire target audience of clichés romcoms done right and I’m here for all of them.
I love Jun Ho to bits and it’s refreshing to see him being silly after so many serious shows. And Yoona is an excellent actress too, I love how differently she portrays her character here as opposed to her previous role in Big Mouth.

Interestingly, there are also very few negative comments after King the Land, Episode 3 aired, with several people commenting instead on how the third episode was even better and funnier than the first two.
King the Land stars Lee Jun Ho and Im Yoon Ah, and is currently airing every Saturday and Sunday at 22:30 (KST) on JTBC.
Outside South Korea, Netflix is streaming the K-drama worldwide with new episodes going up around the same time they air in South Korea.
