Just a heads up before the next episode of My Demon streams on Netflix tomorrow to tell you the Korean drama is now officially a big hit on the world’s biggest streaming platform.
For the second week.
In fact, according to Netflix-owned Tudum, My Demon was the #2 most-watched non-English TV show on Netflix for the week of November 27th to December 3rd, 2023.
It is the second week the K-drama has been on the Top 10 chart, and it has already moved up from the #4 spot the previous week to last week’s #2.
That #2 spot means My Demon was watched 5.4 million times last week, for a total streaming time of 19.7 million hours.
My Demon was also in the Top 10 in a massive 63 countries, including Chile, Ecuador, Honduras and Peru in the Americas, Greece, Portugal and Finland in Europe, Egypt, Kenya and South Africa in Africa, and Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and Singapore in Asia.
The Korean drama also grabbed a #10 spot in New Caledonia in Oceania.
My Demon, of course, stars two of the hottest (and prettiest) South Korean actors currently working today — Song Kang, who plays demon Jeong Gu Won and Kim Yoo Jung as CEO Do Do Hee.
It tells the story of a lonely business woman who suddenly finds herself having accidentally stolen the powers of a demon, and the demon who now has to figure out how to get them back before he is immolated as punishment,
Along the way, the pair develop feelings for each other as Gu Won begins to remember his past life as a human, and Do Hee tries to avoid being murdered by jealous relatives desperate to take over the company she heads.
My Demon airs on SBS in South Korea every Friday and Saturday evening at 22:00 (KST), with Netflix airing it worldwide for everyone else.
The K-drama’s next episode is out tomorrow, and I for one cannot wait as the new episodes look exciting as Do Do Hee is suddenly ousted from her official position.
Besides, we have a wedding coming up, right?
