The Korean teen romance drama Hierarchy has been streaming on Netflix since June 7th, and has already made it to the #2 spot on the Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart.
That position was grabbed due to the K-drama being watched 3.5 million times during the period of June 3rd through June 9th, for a total of 26.6 million viewing hours.
Pretty darned good for a show that had only been on the platform for three days when the chart was compiled.
The only non-English TV show to beat it to the top spot was another teen drama, this time from Spain — Raising Voices.
Hierarchy in Netflix Top 10 in 51 countries
Along with its #2 spot on the chart, Hierarchy was also in the Top 10 in 51 countries including much of Asia and South America, as well as in France, Portugal and Romania in Europe, five countries in Africa, and in New Caledonia.
Interestingly, however, Hierarchy is not being rated particularly well.
My Drama List currently has it rated at a very low (even for that site) 7.0 out of 10 via almost 5,000 viewers, while IMDB users are rating it an even lower 6.2 out of 10.
Most who are leaving negative comments are referencing what they say are poor scripts and a strong plot that was executed in a weak manner, and not blaming the actors.
Not that the producers or actors, to some extent will probably mind the low ratings as the drama is going gangbusters on Netflix, and that usually means even better future opportunities for both.
Including a very likely second season of Hierarchy.
Hierarchy stars the stellar cast of Roh Jeong Eui, Lee Chae Min, Kim Jae Won, Ji Hye Won, and Lee Won Jung.
