Doctor Slump hits Netflix Top 10 just 2 days after premiere – in Top 10 in 11 countries

The new Korean rom-com drama Doctor Slump premiered on Netflix on January 27th and, just two days later, was already ranking on the Netflix Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart.
In fact, just two days after it premiered, Doctor Slump had already been viewed more than 1.4 million times for a total of 1.9 million hours viewed.
That put the K-drama in 9th place on the Top 10 Most-Watched Non-English TV Shows chart.
The Korean drama was ahead of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Swordsmith Village Arc at #10 and behind another Japanese anime Delicious in Dungeon at #8 — both of which have more episodes released than Doctor Slump, by the way.
In addition to hitting #9 on the chart, Doctor Slump was also in the Top 10 in 11 countries, including Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore and its home country of South Korea.
Not a bad start for what is turning out to be a quite addictive K-drama now, is it?
What is Doctor Slump about?
The South Korean drama stars Park Hyung Sik, Park Shin Hye, Yoon Park, and Kong Seong Ha, and follows two doctors — plastic surgeon Yeo Jeong Woo (played by Park Hyung Sik) and Nam Ha Neul
Both Jeong Woo and Ha Neul have had things happen to them that have caused their careers to suffer.
That is when they suddenly find themselves living in the same place, and realizing they are both suffering from massive burnout.
The first two episodes of Doctor Slump premiered on JTBC in South Korea last weekend, and streamed on Netflix the same days.
In Korea, the rom-com premiered to a solid rating, and then increased that rating by more than 1 percentage point for its second episode.
The next episode of the Korean drama is due to release in both Korea and on Netflix for international subscribers on Saturday, February 3rd.
So far, the K-drama is turning out to be a very comfy and fun watch.
