Captivating the King Ep 10 earns highest ratings yet – K-drama grabs #1 and #2 spot on cable TV

It appears tvN’s decision to air four episodes of Captivating the King this weekend was a good one.
After all, not only did Episodes 7 and 8 earn solid ratings on Friday and Saturday night, and Episode 9 see a big jump in its viewership tonight, but Captivating the King, Episode 10 earned the Korean drama its highest ratings yet.
Superb news for the Jo Jung Suk-led period drama, which had two episodes airing back-to-back earlier tonight (Episodes 9 and 10) and with Episode 10 really grabbing a big percentage of the viewers.
Nielsen Korea ratings for Captivating the King, Episodes 9 and 10
Those ratings, by the way, were 6.36 percent of the nationwide audience for Episode 9, with Episode 10 airing right after it and grabbing an even higher 6.70 percent.
The tvN drama also experienced similarly high ratings in Seoul, with Episode 9 garnering 6.29 percent of the audience, followed by Episode 10’s all-time high of 6.79 percent.
Numbers that also made Episode 10 the #1 most-watched show on cable TV for all of Sunday, and Episode 9 the #2 most-watched show for the day.
Numbers that are also exceptionally high considering the two episodes aired on what is still Korean Lunar New Year.
A national holiday that is often spent visiting family or friends, and not watching dramas on TV.
When does next episode of Captivating the King air?
With fans now getting to see four episodes of the superb K-drama this weekend, some may be disappointed to learn Captivating the King goes back to its normal schedule next weekend.
Boo.
That means Episode 11 will air on Saturday, February 17th and Episode 12 on February 18th at their usual time of 21:20 (KST) on tvN, with Netflix streaming them for their international viewers on the same days.
Now doesn’t that seem a long way away?
Meanwhile, the Korean historical drama is performing incredibly well on Netflix as well.
