A Portrait Of Jianghu: Bad Guys Plot (Synopsis via Tencent Penguin Pictures)

The story primarily revolves around the hidden treasure of Emperor Taizong’s Longquan, concealed by the Tang Dynasty’s official organization known as the “Buliangren,” who were responsible for investigation and capturing thieves.

In the late Tang Dynasty, it is said that before the rebel army of Huang Chao captured Chang’an, the mysterious organization of Buliangren within the government executed their final mission and then vanished without a trace.

Almost simultaneously, the national treasury treasure, which the rebels had searched for throughout Chang’an, also disappeared. Since then, a rumor has circulated in the martial world that the legendary Longquan Sword hides an enormous secret.

One day, a mysterious orphan named Li Xingyun is fortuitously saved by the hermit Yang Shuzi and becomes his martial arts disciple.

Several years later, Li Xingyun and his junior sister Lu Linxuan descend the mountain to gain experience. Along the way, they befriend Ji Ruxue and Zhang Zifan, and later, by chance, they acquire the legendary Longquan Sword.

Consequently, Li Xingyun and the Longquan Sword attract the covetous attention of various sects, including the Xuanming Cult, Tongwen Hall, Huanyin Fang, and the Tian Shi Mansion.

These factions employ every possible means to seize the sword, from cunning schemes to outright force, and even the long-disappeared Buliangren show signs of re-emerging. Li Xingyun, a youth with a mysterious background, thus finds himself and his friends navigating the perilous martial world, struggling to find a path to survival.
