PLOT
On the Lantern Festival, Princess Ning Yuan meets a mysterious death during the night banquet. Li Pei Yi (played by Bai Lu) from the Internal Reception Bureau and Xiao Huai Jin (Wang Xing Yue), the Deputy Director of the Imperial Astrology Bureau, are ordered to investigate.
Li Pei Yi possesses exceptional martial skills and a keen insight into human nature. She maintains a cold exterior but a kind heart, relentlessly pursuing the truth. For her, solving the case is not merely about uncovering facts but also an intellectual battle and contest with the killer.
Working in seamless tandem with the meticulous Xiao Huai Jin, they peel back the layers of deception, navigating through an arrogant noblewoman and a secret-bearing Imperial Guard commander, ultimately uncovering the truth and identifying the real culprit.
Subsequently, a series of intricate and mysterious events within the Tang Dynasty’s inner court unfold one after another: “Blossom on the Wall,” “Bloodstained Talent,” “Secret of the Auspicious Hour,” and “The Seven Stars Misplaced”—each case reveals the fates of various women in the harem.
As Li and Xiao explore the wonders of the Tang Dynasty and experience the extraordinary emotions of the human world, they gradually unravel the truth behind the Li family’s massacre fifteen years earlier.
