Upcoming Chinese drama Tigers Sniff the Rose (尚公主) didn’t just release its first character visuals today, it also kicked off filming and released cast photos from its booting ceremony.
As you’d expect, those photos included the drama’s leads — Meng Zi Yi (star of The Princess’s Gambit) and Li Yun Rui (Blossom) — as well as the rest of the main cast.
They also included Quan Li Yun, who is in the supporting cast for the drama, and will be reuniting with Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui for the first time since all three appeared in the smash hit Blossom back in 2024.

Tencent Video announced the filming kick off with a comment confirming both the drama’s main staff and its cast:

Now, I have to admit, I am not a fan of the same actors that were main leads in one drama being the main leads in another, but it is something Chinese dramas do quite often.
(You’d think with well over 1 billion people in China, they could find two actors who hadn’t worked together as a romantic couple in a previous drama, wouldn’t you?)

If you are a Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui fan though, or were obsessed with Blossom, you may think differently. If so, I’m happy for you.
Enjoy the just-dropped kick off ceremony photos from Tigers Sniff the Rose‘s first day of filming.

We’ll keep you abreast of any new developments here on Baozi Buns as the drama now heads into around 3-4 months of filming, including when it eventually gets a broadcast license.
