Lee Hye Ri to star as dental hygienist/management consultant in Chair Time? Here’s what we know

Korean actress Lee Hye Ri (My Roomate is a Gumiho) has just been announced as the possible female lead of the upcoming K-drama Chair Time (체어타임).
According to Korean news outlet Sports Chosun, Lee Hye Ri has been chosen as the female lead. Her agency, SUBLIME, however, begs to differ, simply commenting “Lee Hye Ri has received an offer and is reviewing the project”.
Chair Time is being directed by Lee Gwang Young (The Secret Life of My Secretary), and is a romantic medical-themed drama about a dental hygienist.
What would Lee Hye Ri’s role be?
The Korean drama series reportedly tells the story of Lee In Young, a top industry executive who has lost her convictions under the pressures of reality, as she meets eccentric dentist Jo Chi Soo on what she sees as her downward spiral in life. Together, they heal, love, and grow.
In the drama, if she accepts the role, Lee Hye Ri will play Lee In Young—a dental hygienist and clinic management consultant with the remarkable ability to revive any failing dental practice as long as money is deposited.
Expectations are high as she is set to portray the professional and sharp demeanor of a top industry figure.
There is no word yet on a firm offer or an acceptance from a possible male lead. Nor do we know what network the Korean drama will air on.
Lee Hye Ri’s past career
The now-30-year-old actress is right off the back of a superb performance as high school student Yoo Je I in the U+ Mobile TV short drama Friendly Rivalry earlier this year.
That role came after an almost three year break after starring in MBC’s Can I Help You with Lee Jun Young, as well as main roles in Moonshine, My Roommate is a Gumiho, Miss Lee, Two Cops, Entertainer and the smash-hit K-drama Reply 1988.
She got her start as a member of the girl’s group GIRL’S DAY (걸스데이), a group that has all-but disbanded as their last release was back in 2017.
She now solely concentrates on her acting career.
We will keep you posted with updates on Baozi Buns about Lee Hye Ri’s possible involvement in Chair Time but, at least a drama centered around a dentist’s office is a little more unusual than the usual fare, right?
