Second Shot at Love EP 3 has ratings rise as international viewers are overwhelmingly positive

I’m happy to see Korean drama Second Shot at Love, Episode 3 airing last night to a ratings rise, as it was troubling to see what has turned out to be a fun, and well-acted and directed, show have its audience share fall for its second episode.
Thankfully, things are hopefully turning around, as Second Shot at Love, Episode 3 grabbed 3.18 percent in the nationwide ratings last night — up from the 2.98 percent it garnered for Episode 2.
The new tvN drama also performed even better in Seoul on Monday night, where it grabbed 3.68 percent — which is up from the 2.99 percent all-time low it earned for its previous episode.
International viewers’ reactions to Second Shot at Love so far
Interestingly, and yet more proof that you absolutely cannot trust the ratings for a drama over on My Drama List (MDL), comments from viewers on that platform are overwhelmingly positive, while the rating itself is a stupidly low 7.8 out of 10.
(MDL administrators are at fault, as they allow people to rate after one episode has aired, say they have “completed” a drama when only one episode has been released, and even allow users of the site to vote on dramas that haven’t begun airing. Yep, the site’s ratings are incredibly suspect).
That is why the comments from people actually watching Second Shot at Love then are at odds with the low rating.
After last night’s episode of the Korean rom-com, for instance, comments on the site look like this:
The romance premises is very similar to Samdal-Ri …she was cheated and will get with her first love
I like the pace , reconnecting in a slow mode
The real issue is the alcoholism in Korean society , everyone is trying to make it sexist because it focus on the female lead … people are so sensitive, anything is a issue to go online and become a keyboard warrior đ
Take the rom com as it should be taken …light and happy in the end.

Iâm still enjoying this show. I love the chemistry between the leads (their flashback scenes made me smile and we got to see why they stopped speaking ), and it tackles alcoholism which you donât see in K dramas instead of romanticizing it. That breakdown at the end made me so sad, but glad that Ui Jun figured out why she came back home.
I donât know why people are complaining about the storyline revolving around alcohol because thatâs pretty much the premise of the show.
(and in answer to the last question, there are millions of abject idiots on line that will get “offended” at anything just to satisfy their own need for attention. It’s all you need to know. Well, that, and don’t respond to them and they will eventually slither away to find attention elsewhere).

Episode 3 was really good. The FL finally feeling her emotions and just sobbing was well done. Sheâs not ok and hasnât been, but sheâs been numbing her feelings for so long that itâs painful when it finally comes out. Looking forward to watching her development. I hope the writers donât mess this up.
And yep, I agree. Especially Choi Soo Young’s performance, as she proves yet again (she was also superb in Not Others) why she has always been much more than just a “former idol”.
