Cho Seung Woo, Roh Yoon Seo and Nam Joo Hyuk to star in supernatural drama East Palace on Netflix

It has been confirmed that actors Cho Seung Woo, Roh Yoon Seo and Nam Joo Hyuk will be starring in the supernatural horror-themed historical drama East Palace, and what a lovely trio that is, eh?
The drama will be a Netflix exclusive.
Cho Seung Woo, of course, has not appeared in a drama since he starred in 2023’s superb legal drama Divorce Attorney Shin, while Roh Yoon Seo‘s most famous role to-date is her support role in the smash hit Crash Course in Romance, also back in 2023.
As for, Nam Joo Hyuk, he starred in Vigilante back in 2023, but East Palace will be the 30-year-old actor’s first drama role since he completed his mandatory military duty in the Korean military police SWAT team.
East Palace is written by Kwon So Ra and Seo Jea Won, who also wrote The Guest together, and directed by Choi Jung Kyu (The Devil Judge).
Netflix describes the plot of East Palace, and the roles of the three main actors, like this:
Nam Joo Hyuk stars as Gu Cheon, who can traverse the world of ghosts and defeat them with his sword. Sneaking into the cursed palace to solve the strange incidents occurring within, Gu Cheon is met with a dark world beyond his imagination.
He is joined by Roh Yoon Seo, who plays Saeng Gang, a court lady born with the ability to see and hear ghosts.
Having thought of this ability as a curse her whole life, she uses it now to uncover the palace’s secrets alongside Gu Cheon, while keeping a dark secret of her own.
Cho Seung Woo plays the King, a ruler who quietly enlists these two extraordinary people to take care of the palace’s curse. Though his rule is good, there are also darker sides to the complex King.
Alongside the announcement of East Palace and its main cast, Netflix also released photos of the three actors at one of the K-drama’s script readings.
There is no word yet on when East Palace will premiere on Netflix but, with this superb of a cast and fascinating subject matter, this K-drama could very well be a must watch.
