Dr. Romantic 3, Episode 14 ratings increase but still can’t catch drama’s first two seasons
Dr. Romantic 3, Episode 14 aired on SBS TV last night in Seoul with nationwide viewers holding steady as the Korean drama heads into its final week.
According to Nielsen Korea, the drama earned its highest rating yet nationwide with a 14.9 percent audience share, which is up very very slightly from 14.8 percent for its previous highest-rated episode.
In Seoul, however, the number of viewers for Dr. Romantic 3, Episode 14 fell slightly last night as the drama earned a 14.8 percent share versus its previous episode’s 15.1 percent.
Overall, though, with 2.8 million people watching the medical drama nationwide and 1.7 million in Seoul, its ratings were enough to place it as the #2 most-watched show for the day.
Dr. Romantic 3 has struggled to garner same viewers as Seasons 1 and 2
The third season of Dr. Romantic, however, has not earned anywhere near the ratings the medical-themed drama earned for its first two seasons.
Both seasons that saw the drama earning an average of 20.4 percent and 18.3 percent of the audience per episode respectively by the time they ended.
To say then that, while the drama has done well compared to other K-dramas currently airing, Dr. Romantic 3, Episode 14 only increased its viewership by .1 percent nationwide just two episodes away from its finale means the drama has been the least successful of the three seasons.
Although that is probably to be expected as most dramas, Korean and otherwise, tend to see a falling off of viewers the more seasons that air.
The final two episodes of Dr. Romantic 3 will air next weekend — June 16th and 17th, 2023.
Fingers crossed their ratings increase higher than those of Dr. Romantic 3, Episode 14.
